The changes outlined below are available after you have downloaded the newest Morpheus app version.  These versions were released to their respective stores on June 10, 2020.

Links to these current app versions are below.  If you click on the correct one from your phone you will arrive at the Morpheus Recovery page in the App Store or Google Play Store.

We have made major changes to the way the M5 communicates with the Morpheus app that will make using the M5 much easier for you.

Through a firmware update that you can install to your M5 from the Morpheus app, the app can now control the mode of the device instead of having to put the device into a specific mode first and then choose that mode in the app.

Please read through the details about the updated M5-App process flow below and reach out if you have questions.

Your Morpheus app will let you know that there is a firmware update available for your M5.

If you see that a firmware update is available, press Update Firmware.  It takes less than 1 minute to update your M5 firmware.

If you press Later, you will be prompted to update your M5 firmware the first time you open the app each day, so it's best just to complete this update right away.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have any M5 workouts that you have not yet synced to the app, be sure to sync these workouts prior to updating your firmware.

If you are not prompted to update your firmware, but you want to check if there is an available firmware update, go to Settings and choose Firmware Update.

The app may ask you to select your M5.  Do so by tapping the box to the left of your M5 as shown in the app.  The 5 digit number of your M5 is listed on the back of the unit for reference.

Then you can go through the firmware update process.  It takes less than 1 minute to complete the update.

During this time, your M5 should not be charging and it should be within Bluetooth range of your phone.  Your M5 screen will turn off during the firmware update.

If you see that a firmware update is available, press Update.

If you press Later, you will be prompted to update your M5 firmware each time you log into the app or attempt to start any app process (such as the recovery test or training), so it's best just to complete this update right away.

When the firmware update has been completed you will see that in the app and you will press Done.

Then the first thing you will need to do is SYNC your M5 with your app.

Your M5 will show SYNC TO SET TIME.

In the Morpheus app, press the SYNC icon and then you will see a checkmark on the M5 and it will change to the time of day.

Now that your M5 has updated firmware and you have synced it with the app, it is ready to use and will function a bit differently than you are used to.

Example:  The TEST and SYNC screens have both been eliminated from the M5 as these functions are now activated directly from the app instead of having to activate them on the M5 and then activate them in the app.

NEW Recovery Test Process:

No need to press any buttons on the M5.  Just put the band on your arm in the morning and press the TEST button in the app.  That will activate TEST mode on the M5.

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure that your M5 is not on the TRAIN interface when trying to take a recovery test.  It can be on the digital clock screen.

It may take up to 30 seconds for the M5 to find your heart rate and connect to the app before you can press the START button.  If the M5 does not find your heart rate within 30 seconds, you will see a note in the app "heart rate data unavailable, please reposition band and try again".  This just means that the M5 is not in an ideal location on your arm to accurately read RR intervals or there is something obstructing it from doing so, such as arm movement, tattoos, skin lotion, etc.

When the M5 has found your heart rate and is in HRV mode (like the picture below), you will also see your heart rate appear in the middle of the app and you can then press START.

When the test has finished and after you have completed the questionnaire, you will see a large checkmark on the M5 screen, which indicates that your HR Zones have been set on the M5.

3 seconds after this checkmark appears, the M5 will return to the digital clock screen.

15 seconds after it returns to the digital clock, the screen will turn off.

NEW Workout Sync Process:

No need to press any buttons on the M5.  To complete a Workout Sync from the M5 to the app, you can just press SYNC in the app without doing anything to your M5 (the screen can be off) as long as the M5 is within Bluetooth range of your phone.

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure that your M5 is not on the TRAIN interface when trying to sync.

After you press SYNC in the app and your M5 connects to your app, you will see your M5 screen change to that which is shown below that shows you it is in Sync mode.

After your workout data has been sent to your phone so that you can choose it and import it, you will see a large checkmark on your M5 screen.

Then you can complete the workout import as you normally would.

Heart Rate Training Process:

TRAIN mode has not been removed from the M5 and functions the same as it always has.  This is because you have to be able to choose whether you are going to use the M5 as heart rate monitor or whether you are going to connect an ANT+ chest strap to it.

The one small change to this mode is that during a workout, there is an additional data view - time of day - that can be accessed by tapping the touchscreen.

We may make future changes to M5 firmware to continue to make your Morpheus experience better.  If you are ever wondering if you have the most up-to-date firmware, go to Settings and choose Update Firmware.  You will either see "Your device is up to date" in which case you're good to go, or you will see "A newer version of firmware is available for your M5.  Would you like to update?"

We will do our best to let you know if/when there are future firmware updates.
